LockOPS Lock Poker Series Expected to be Reintroduced This Fall

The build up for LockOPS, the Lock Poker Series, was pretty significant with hundreds of searches coming info the Gambling911.com website for this event.

"This ranked as one of the most searched for tournament events, whether online or live, that we have ever seen here on the Gambling911.com website," reveals Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of G911.  "Simply amazing when one considers the limited time frame between the official announcement and its anticipated starting time."

It was supposed to have kicked off now but in April, according to Lock Poker representatives, the Merge Gaming Network abruptly pulled the plug.

This weekend, Gambling911.com broke the news that Lock Poker was not just moving over to the Cake Poker Network, they were essentially buying it

Shortly thereafter both Lock and Cake revealed the juicy details of the deal whereby Lock would assume control of the network while Cake would operate independently as its own skin, presumably with a greater degree of power than your typical online poker skin.  Gambling911.com enjoys a strong relationship with both companies.

LockOPS, we are learning, will be considered a key priority for the rebranded network, which is now calling itself Revolution Gaming.

Our sources have said to anticipate the reintroduction of the LockOPS Lock Poker Series some time in the fall.  In fact, the old LockOPS entry page does declare “Coming This Fall”. Presumably the firm will need much of the summer to initiate changes that reportedly include the return of a more aggressive rake program as well as making Revolution Gaming and Cake Poker MAC compatible.

LOCKOPS: Lock Online Poker Series was slated to feature 33 events, over 2 Million in Guaranteed Tournaments and the Grand Finale Main Event with over 800k in guaranteed winnings. A Lock PRO Elite will be hosting each tournament and there will be bounties on all Lock PRO's heads.

A leaderboard for the top 100 players will be running throughout the series. A special final tournament for the final top 100 players will be held after the main event.

Winners of each event will also be entered in a Champion of Champions tournament, competing for 2 World Series of Poker Main Event seats.

This event could be revamped further, especially if the Lock player pool increases by the fall.
