Gaelle Baumann Almost First Woman to Make Final Table of World Series of Poker M

Gaelle Baumann of France just missed becoming the first woman to ever make the Final Table of a World Series of Poker Main Event.  She was eliminated in 10th place at around 3:30 am EST.

With Norway’s Elisabeth Hille being eliminated in 11th place, 2012 will likely forever be known as “The Year of the Woman” at the WSOP even though both just missed the Final Table.

Baumann had been at the bottom of the chip stack throughout a number of the eliminations leading up to the Final Table.  She made a magnificent run during the unofficial Final Table but it just wasn’t enough.

Gaëlle Baumann (@_O_RLY) now has 4,660,000 but is still the short-stack at the table. Jeremy Ausmus is 2nd shortest with 10,005,000.
