Federation Internationale de Poker Association New 2013 International Poker Rule

Birkirkara, MALTA - The Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FIDPA) announces the launch of the revamped fidpa.com website, featuring the 2013 International Poker Rules (the IP Rules) and its all-new Mobile App, designed for today’s traveling poker player on-the-go.

The 2013 IP Rules are a standardized set of 81 technical rules, policies and procedures for tournament play, which incorporate and reference all 54 rules of the Poker Tournament Directors Association (TDA). The IP Rules provide the poker industry with a base set of rules that are simple to understand, transparent to all players, and fully modifiable for management and event organizers globally.

FIDPA’s goal has been to create a comprehensive set of international player-centric poker rules for tournament play. With these rules used globally, players can expect the fairest and most consistent poker experience possible - regardless of which country, casino, card room, or club they are playing in.

Visitors to fidpa.com can view and download the IP Rules in PDF format, and it’s now easier than ever to check on a rule anywhere, anytime using FIDPA’s slick new Mobile App, which provides instant access to the IP Rules direct from your mobile phone. It’s portable, convenient and there's absolutely no cost involved.

Card rooms, tournament organizers and service providers can also apply online for FIDPA Endorsement, an official designation awarded by FIDPA that provides a way for the poker industry and its players to immediately identify approved FIDPA partners. A choice to become FIDPA Endorsed means joining the elite ranks of some of the most prestigious poker venues and organizations worldwide, such as the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, which continues to use IP Rules with great success in its world-renowned poker room.

Testimonial to the work FIDPA is doing to promote the interests of players is the large number of international pros who have willingly gone on the record with their support for the IP Rules at fidpa.com, including household names of the game, Antonio Esfandiari, Marco Traniello, J.J. Lui, Thor Hansen, Phil Ivey, Chad Brown, Chris Moneymaker, Jan Heitman, and the Mizrachi brothers amongst them.

“Showing support for one set of international poker rules will only take a minute, but it means a more credible and secure future for poker players of knowing exactly what to expect every time they sit down at a poker table anywhere in the world.” said FIDPA CEO and Poker Stars Pro Marcel Luske.

In an open letter addressed to players and members of the poker industry, Luske takes time in his personal blog to expand on exactly why he has continued to pour time and resources into establishing FIDPA, and why FIDPA has persisted with the task of creating one set of International Poker Rules.

The letter also invites players of all levels to leave their own personal quote at fidpa.com, outlining why they think the IP Rules are important. Players who agree that one set of international poker rules should be used in all international poker events globally, can express their support for the IP Rules now.
