Being a Poker Princess is so 2014: Let's Learn How to Become a Poker Queen

All the hoopla this past summer centered around Molly Bloom and her book “Molly’s Game”.  Ms. Bloom is the self-proclaimed “Poker Princess”.

But now we have “How to Become a Poker Queen”.

Rebecca McAdam chatted with the folks from the European Poker Tour about her new book this past week.

She also assembled a group of women around a poker table who have never played the game before in an effort to provide them with the “ammunition to show we are good players”.

One of the reasons cited for a woman’s fear of playing poker professionally: “They might be a little bit intimidated by the men”.

McAdam says: “I’m kinda on both sides of the fence, I hate to say, meaning I love ladies events, I think they are amazing – look, we have them all here today – maybe if this was a mixed event, some of them would have been put off.  At the same time I want to encourage them to play in an open event.”
