America’s Cardroom Changes Online Poker Leaderboard Payout Distribution Model

In The Beast Live, Dusty "Leatherass9" Schmidt, Matt "mbolt1" Bolt, GiFt oF Gab, and Johnwallin are competing against each other for the top spot on The Beast Leaderboard with their webcams flipped on while they play online poker. Online poker players can win a $50 bonus by catching any one of the players seated at a Beast table with their webcam turned off.

Mbolt1 sits within spitting distance of Duffman007, just a few points behind him with just over 10,200 points as of publication time. Johnwallin is right behind him with 7,472.95. Dusty Schmidt and GiFt oF Gab have some catching up to do. They rank in 51st and 21st place, respectively.

The Beast is Americas Cardroom's groundbreaking new progressive points race that's funded entirely through Americas Cardroom's jackpot tables, using players' shared jackpot contribution money. At the end of each month, the prize pool in The Beast is distributed to players who rank on The Beast leaderboard.

A total of 289 players won a piece of The Beast's cash prize pool for August, which hit $72,170. And 462, including the initial 289 players, were awarded a $100+9 Punta Cana Poker Classic Super Satellite entry, adding up to $50,358 in tournament entries.

September is expected to see an even more lucrative cash prize pool thanks to a change in the leaderboard payout distribution model. Of the $0.17 collected to feed The Beast, $0.13 will go towards the cash leaderboard and $0.04 will go towards the tournament leaderboard. This month's tournament race will award entries to October 14th's $50k Guaranteed tournament, valued at $50+5 apiece.

The Beast leaderboard features two prize pools—a cash prize pool and a tournament entry prize pool. Players automatically compete for both prizes by ranking on the leaderboard. And because The Beast grows using money generated at Jackpot tables, the more people who play at the jackpot tables, the greater the prize pool, and, in turn, the more people who'll reap the rewards.
