12 Ninja Malware Contains PokerGrabber Module Targeting Poker Players

There is a growing fear in the poker community of a new malware being used to hijack information from unsuspecting poker players.

It’s called “12 Ninja” and features a “PokerGrabber” module that targets major online poker sites and, ultimately, the poker players themselves.

HighStakesDB.com explains how it works:

The ‘PokerGrabber’ tool essentially allows its users to access private information stored on an infected computer from an anonymous source, which could be anything from recording typed keys, to actual screen surveillance.  A perpetrator could therefore theoretically view a victim’s screen during a poker session, log on to the same site, and then play against them while viewing their hole cards!

The distribution channels include traditional methods such as spam emails and Internet downloads.

Experts are suggesting that the virus will most likely be distributed in the usual manner.
