Bryson DeChambeau on Top Heading Into Saturday

(April 12, 2024) - Bryson DeChambeau was sitting atop the leaderboard as play re-starts on Saturday. DeChambeau would pay out $4000 on a $100 bet.

“I have a level of respect for this golf course that’s a little bit different than a couple years ago,” he told reporters. “Clearly today was a great test of golf, and I was able to conquer a very difficult golf course today.

He controversially claimed that he viewed the course as a “par 67” – five strokes below its official scorecard number – as he could “reach all the par-fives in two, no problem.”

“Regarding the 67 comment, you mess up. I’m not a perfect person. Everybody messes up. You learn from your mistake, and that was definitely one.”

The early 5-1 favorite, Scottie Scheffler, continues to hover right outside that No. 1 spot just waiting to pounce it seems.

Max Homa was moved down to the No. 3 spot.

Max Homa Makes His Way to the Top of the Leaderboard Friday Morning

(April 12, 2024) - Max Homa was tied for the lead just before Noon ET on Friday.  Those who got down on Homa early stand to make $55,000 on a $100 bet assuming he goes on to win.  There is still so much time, however.

Born in California, Homa won the 2013 NCAA Division Men's Championship. To date, he has nine tour wins.  His best result in a majors tournament was last year at the Open where he tied for 10th place.

“Made a great putt on our first hole of the day on 14,” Homa said Friday morning.

“You’re not really settling the nerves, but I felt like I kept up what I was doing really well yesterday. So then I just tried to tee it off, tee it up on 15, and just say we’re right back to work. So that start really helped.”

Leaderboard After Thursday

(April 11, 2024) - With play called for the day on Thursday, here’s a look at where things stand at Augusta National:

1. Bryson DeChambeau (-7)
2. Scottie Scheffler (-6)
3. Nicolai Højgaard (-5) (Thru 15)
T4. Danny Willett (-4)
T4. Max Homa (-3) (Thru 15)
T6. Ryan Fox (-3)
T6. Cameron Davis (-3)
T6. Tyrrell Hatton (-3) (Thru 14)

DeChambeau opened at 40-1 odds ahead of Thursday's play.  Scheffler was the favorite entering this tournament.

Højgaard, like Tiger Woods, would pay out $250,000 on a $100 bet should either men go on to win.  Højgaard is third on the leaderboard while Woods performed well in Round 1.

Other notables:

T17. Tiger Woods (-1) (Thru 14)
T17. Rory McIlroy (-1)
T17. Patrick Cantlay (-1)
T32. Brooks Koepka (E)

Tiger Woods Off to Hot Start at Masters

(April 11) - Tiger Woods got off to a good start on Thursday.  He sat at T14 on the leaderboard Thursday afternoon.

Woods is looking for his first major win since the 2019 Masters.  He would pay out $135,000 for every $100 bet with a win!

“If everything comes together, I think I can get one more,” Woods said earlier in the week. He paused briefly before adding, “Do I need to describe that any more than that, or are we good?”

Tigers Woods and Other Prop Bets

(April 9, 2024) - There are always fresh storylines when it comes to the Masters every year, but the timeless rivalry between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson never gets old.

There are hundreds of ways to wager on the Masters Tournament beyond simply the champion, and apparently one of the most popular bets involves the two aforementioned Hall of Fame golfers.

Our shop is reporting that 6x more money has been wagered on the Tiger-Phil head-to-head, full-tournament showdown than any of the other 50+ matchups on the board.

Woods is currently a +108 underdog against Mickelson (-129 favorite), and the tempered expectations don’t end there.
