This Grade 2 $350,000 Tampa Bay Derby will be raced at a mile and a sixteenth and will likely produce some Kentucky Derby contenders.

Brian Mulligan, BetOnline.com’s resident horse racing analyst, had this to say about the upcoming race:

Prospective should run big. He got a nice prep over the track, and then was hung wide from the marooned slot in last.

The bad news is he is facing arch-rival Battle Hardened, who ran greenly in the debut but has been solid since. He has tactical speed and that will give him first run on the deep closers and the blood is there as he is kin to Grade 1 winner and over $900,000 earner Colonial Colony.

Golden Ticket just broke his maiden so he has some work to do while Twin took 12 races to win and was taxed in the process.
