Our friends at BetDSI.com have some Preakness 2014 predictions and break down all of this year’s contenders, although it seems pretty unanimous that Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome is the horse to beat.  The latest Preakness Stakes odds have California Chrome priced at an impressive +16/1

These odds are subject to change so check here regularly for the latest Preakness Stakes 2014 odds.

California Chrome

Not much needs to be said as this horse will go off as the odds-on favorite and the clear choice to win the Preakness States on Saturday.

Social Inclusion

This horse looked really good for a while but then he didn’t come through in the Wood Memorial and missed out on the Kentucky Derby. ‘‘California Chrome is a very nice horse, but I think we have a chance to beat him,’’ said Ronald Sanchez, Social Inclusion’s owner.

Bayern

This horse was a Derby contender but he flopped in the Arkansas Derby. The horse is trained by Bob Baffert and Baffert has won this race five times. He will be ridden by female jockey Rosie Napravnik.

Dynamic Impact

Perhaps this horse will show something but it is hard to get too excited about this horse who has taken a long time to get going.

Pablo Del Monte

This horse didn’t run in the Derby as his connections decided starting in post position 20 wasn’t worth it. This horse could be a real threat in the Preakness.

Kid Cruz

This horse does have a win on the track at Pimlico so he could be a live longshot.

Ride on Curlin

If you want to take a shot with a horse from the Derby other than California Chrome then it might be this one. He got a poor ride from Calvin Borel in the Derby and he could improve in the Preakness. Joel Rosario will replace Borel in the irons for the Preakness.

General a Rod

This horse finished 11th in the Derby but trainer Mike Maker thinks the Preakness will suit his horse.

Ring Weekend

It is hard to get too excited about this horse has his only good win was in the Tampa Bay Derby.
