Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

Poker eChecks

While the two largest online poker rooms, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, respectively, have been hit hard in recent days by the fallout from an eCheck payment processor getting pinched, the same fate has not happened to Doylesroom.com, at least not yet.

The reason perhaps:  DoylesRoom eCheck deposits stopped back on May 1.  We're not sure if they reinstituted the method between then and now but thus far Gambling911 has yet to read a complaint related to DoylesRoom and eChecks.

AbsolutePoker.com's eChecks system appears to not be affected by this latest crisis, according to PokereCheck.com although Gambling911.com advises caution before trying to cash a paper check issued by the company.  There were initial conflicting reports suggesting that Absolute Poker had been impacted by this recent crackdown, though there is not a whole lot of evidence to support this notion (i.e. players complaining about bounced checks).

Gambling911.com had received hundreds of complaints and inquiries related to this eCheck matter exclusive only to Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.

PokerStars in particular has been emailing customers, letting them know that their eChecks processor has had "funds froze" and that paper checks from this particular processor will not be accepted by their banks.  PokerStars is trying to be as upfront about this situation with their customers as one would expect from this pretty well regarded organization  - Full Tilt Poker (as we here at Gambling911.com would expect), not so much in terms of keeping customers informed. PokerStars customers have noted that there are other options readily available in which to deposit and withdraw money.

And finally, it doesn't appear as if Bodog was utilizing this payment method. The reason being, the processor in question apparently dealt with "poker only" websites and steered clear of those that immersed themselves in the sports betting world such as Bodog.  At least this is what we are being told and, again, we're not reading about eCheck problems with Bodog.  If you recently received a check from Bodog - don't cash it until you contact them first.

Please note that eChecks is a generic term used to describe electronic checks, however, there is a processing firm well regarded called eCheck that deals only in online casino transactions and this company is still very much in business and experiencing zero problems with deposits and withdrawals.

The United States Attorney out of New York State has forced the shutdown of this eCheck processor being utilized by PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker and reportedly seized monies as a result.

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

The 64,000 dollar question is, what recourse will any of these poker sites have if you walk a way from the money that you owe. Collections? Can they? Will they? Stay tuned. I'm negative about 1500.00 in my account and given the current deposit options, I'm thinking why not just walk and go to a brick and motar to play. Any comments on what the fallout might me on doing that, are welcome

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

Received notice from Pokerstars that my four different deposits spanning 45 days did not get processed. My account with Pokerstars is negative. This is twice this has happened to me in 6 months. It is a bunch of BS. They keep telling me to pay the balance on my account but the only way I can do that is through e-checks (USA) and I refuse to send a wire. Why should I PAY a fee for a problem they created? So screw em. When they get their shit togethr then maybe i will come back.

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars suck big time for getting paid (if at all). Always were bad, and even got worse, just when you think it wouldn't be possible. There are no good reason to do business with those 2 firms. I smell a Fed raid of them, including of their bank accounts.

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

i have 7 different deposits from jan 13th 2011 all the way back to nov 15th 2010 that haven't been taken out of my bank account for fulltilt and 1 deposit that pokerstars didn't clear now my account is negative. don't bother me as long as long as I don't get in trouble.

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

the problem is these online sites used fake names to withdraw money out of our echeck accounts now the banks caught on and are not releasing the money to echeck to basically the poker sites want u to pay another way in order to keep playing because they just got screwed out of alot of money for 3months my account is negative 1600 even tho i have money in my bank account they wont release any to pokerstars its good and bad if u want the freee play time and money them good for u if u want to keep playin on ur poker site then u gotta pay them wat hasnt cleared in another form besides echecks i say screw em its a sign just to go to atlantic city lol

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

I am having the same problems deposited money on my full tilt account and it has been a month and a half and still not out of my checking ? Contacted full tilt cashiers and they said they are having problems and i would be notified when it would come out that was 2 weeks ago and still nothing.

Re: Poker eChecks Problem Limited to Full Tilt, PokerStars

i got a ?here

I deposited using echeck 25 days ago and it still hasnt been taken out of my bank account do you think it ever will? confused in NY

Re: i got a ?here

I had a couple of deposits I made in early Nov. My last couple have went through, but those ones have yet to clear. I don't want to bring it up to fulltilt, because I don't want to let them know, if they don't. lol

Re: i got a ?here

I am having the same problem at Full tilt. Made a deposit a month ago using echecks but it still has not cleared my bank yet. But the funny thing is that they are still allowing me to make more deposits. It is making no sense. I am almost thinking this same thing started happening to party poker when they were almost done letting US players use there site. This may not be a good sign for US players.

Re: i got a ?here

I have the same problem at PokerStars and Fulltilt. My money wasn't deduced after a month or so. I AM PROUDLY TO BE AN AMERICAN !!!!

Re: i got a ?here

I made 3 deposits prior the week of Oct. 10th, 2010 and none have them have been taken out of my account. I contacted pokerstars three weeks ago and they said they were "investigating" the matter and the funds should be out shortly....im not so sure.

eChecks

Is anyone still having a problem with getting winnings into their checking account via eChecks or checks sent by mail?

Echeck Payout

I had an eheck withdrawl processed on 6/1 at Poker Stars...They wrote me on 6/6 that it had been sucessfully processed...have not seen it yet...

Echecks

Echecks were working for me 10 days ago but they no longer work on Pokerstars.

Pretend to do some journalism G-911...

And make it clear what form of payment is causing problems. You've completely muddied the issue with the echeck/ eCheck confusion.

re

so eChecks are fine, but echecks are having problems. Thanks for clearing that up

Re: re

LMAO

It's Instant eChecks

It's Instant eChecks specifically. My understanding is that PokerStars uses up to 5 other methods of payment so this isn't to imply that all their customers are having issues. If you have a check to deposit, contact your online poker room to ensure it is okay to do so, otherwise you are stuck with the fees incurred from a "bad check".
