Lawsuit Claims Americare Boss was ‘Pervert’ and ‘Degenerate Gambler’

A lawsuit filed in a Brooklyn Federal Court by former Americare supervisor Mendel Cohen claims his boss, Favish Pewzer was a pervert and degenerate gambler, among other things.

The ex-employee of Americare also claims he was sexually harassed by Pewzer, an Orthodox Jew and married father of five, who Cohen claims lived a double life.  The lawsuit also alleges that Pewzer regularly smoked pot and solicited hookers.

“Plaintiff was the victim of repeated harassment and assault at the hands of Pewzner, a pervert who used his position at Americare to harass and intimidate its employees,” the complaint contends.

Cohen accompanied Pewzner, 57, on road trips to Atlantic City where the company executive “binged on gambling, illegal drugs and illicit sex,” according to the complaint.

Cohen also alleges he was asked to arrange for a high priced call girl to meet in his boss' “high-roller” suite at the Borgata for a sexual tryst.

“One of the women rolled a cigar joint for Pewzner and they drank wine and sake,” followed by sex with two women in a hot tub. Cohen refused to join them in the hot tub, the complaint states.  Mendel says he was later sexually abused by Pewzer.

Neighbors contacted by the New York Daily news were stunned by the allegations.

“He’s extremely reputable,” said long-time neighbor Mark Billet, a dentist, told the paper. “He’s very family-oriented. It would be extremely out of character for him to do something like that . . . But I don’t know what he does in his private life.”
