Caesars Counting on Cold Weather, New Ad Campaign to Boost NJ Online Gambling

AdWeek.com says Caesars Online Casino is counting on a reboot in the Garden State when cold weather starts to roll in this November.  They will be pushing a more aggressive advertising campaign on television as well, similar to that we saw earlier in the year with the Borgata and its partner site PartyPoker.  New Jersey is served by two major television media markets: New York and Philadelphia.

"We wanted to make the public more aware of what we're offering from an online perspective and highlight to the market the different kinds of games we have," Caesars Interactive Entertainment VP of digital marketing Adrian Bailey explained.

Caesars, in their partnership with 888 Holdings, offers 120 online casino games in addition to poker.

"We want to tell people we're Caesar’s and we’re online," Bailey said.

It's already gotten chilly in the USA's second largest gambling destination.  Caesars is one of a handful of only a handful of casinos that continue to thrive in Atlantic City.  Four land-based casinos there have either shut down or are in the process of doing so.  A fifth one, the Taj Mahal, is on the verge of declaring bankruptcy.

The industry may have gotten a boost on Monday after NJ Attorney General, John Hoffman, issued a directive to law enforcement that prohibitions on Sports Wagering in casinos and at racetracks would no longer be enforced. He also has filed a motion with the US District Court (Judge Shipp) seeking "clarification or modification" of the injunction prohibiting enforcement of the NJ Sports Wagering Law.

This essentially means that existing casinos will be able to start taking sports bets, at least on a temporary basis.  Atlantic City would become the only jurisdiction in the region to do so this football season and that should result in added revenue and more employment opportunities.

Last week, Gambling911.com reported exclusively on how 1000 displaced casino workers had submitted job applications to SCORES, Atlantic City's biggest gentleman's cub.
