Gambling911.com has learned that the Northern District of New York was in the process of rounding up sportsbook agents throughout the state of Florida and elsewhere.

Details were not immediately known, however, the indictments are currently under seal and G911 has been unable to obtain further information.

The Northern District of New York includes Albany and Syracuse.  It was not immediately known if individuals arrested earlier in the day had ties to a massive sports betting ring connected to Legends Sports out of Panama City.  Nearly three dozen charges were filed against individuals connected to Legends Sports, a very popular and highly regarded sports betting firm.

Earlier in the day Wednesday, two corrections officers were arrested after reporting to work in Albany.  Authorities there announced that the two men were part of a national gambling ring and that arrests warrants were being executed throughout the US.  The ring is believed to have ties to at least one offshore sportsbook.

In recent months, the Southern District of New York in coordination with the Queens DA’s Office had aggressively gone after agents acting on behalf of Pinnacle Sports, based in the Netherlands Antilles.

A major sports betting ring was also infiltrated by law enforcement in and around Toronto following a raid at a Super Bowl party for Platinum SB, based out of Costa Rica.  The RCMP seized that sportsbook’s website.
