One of the gambling world's most recognizable figures is said to be in grave condition.

China Press reported that "Gambling King" Stanley Ho had fallen in his house last July with rumors he had undergone brain surgery.

It was reported that the 88-year-old casino owner's health started to deteriorate last Friday.

The daily claimed that Ho's daughters - Pansy, Chiu-Fung and Chiu-Ha - had visited him and were seen coming out of the hospital in tears.

The man who monopolised Macau's gambling industry was said to have been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in the territory.

Ho is the wealthiest person in Macau, and amongst the wealthiest in Asia. According to Forbes, he tied for 701st rank among the world's richest people in 2009, with an estimated net worth of $1.0 Billion USD[1]. He owns many properties in both Hong Kong and Macau and has taken part in many kinds of business including entertainment, tourism, shipping, real estate, banking, and air transport.
