Everybody is wondering this week how the New England Patriots have performed as a home underdog.  As one might imagine, over the past decade, the Pats have rarely been in this position.  Heading into Thursday night, the Patriots opened as a +1.5 underdog before moving up to +2.5.  By Thursday afternoon, many books had New England at -1, even -1.5 at some shops.  New England is missing both its star quarterback, Tom Brady (serving a four week suspension) and its leading backup, Jimmy Garoppolo (injured).  Julian Edelman could be taking up the quarterbacking duties against Houston Thursday night.  So what are the historic stats on the Pats as a home underdog?  We have the answer below.

The Patriots have been listed as an underdog eight times over the past three seasons, covering in all but one of those games.  Two of those were at home and both were covered by New England.  Since 1992, the Patriots have gone 12-3 Against The Spread as a home underdog of 3 points or less.
