Week 1 of the 2016 College Football season is in the books and a few teams have either shocked with wins or managed covers.

I don’t think we would have been discussing Wisconsin as the upset team in Week 1 to have defeated LSU,  but that’s exactly what happened.

The Badgers, as an underdog, beat the Tigers by two points on Saturday.

From Fox Sports:

Corey Clement ran for 86 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. The Badgers defense pitched a shutout well into the third quarter, forcing two fumbles and frustrating Harris. But Wisconsin led just 6-0 at halftime after squandering early scoring chances, including a stop on fourth-and-1 from the LSU 23. Quarterback Bart Houston, making his first career start, was 19 of 31 for 205 yards with two interceptions. The Badgers celebrated at Lambeau Field, home of the NFL's Green Bay Packers.

The other teams that had bookies reeling didn’t win their respective games but did manage to cover.

These including the following:

Appalachian State

Auburn

Oklahoma

The favorite to win the 2017 National Championship game, Alabama, looked dominant in Week 1 with a 52-6 victory over USC, which was supposed to test the Crimson Tide in Week 1.
