The online bookmakers have made Sergio Aguero of Man City the favorite to become top goalscorer for the 2011-2012 Premier League season

Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney had dominated the field prior to this past weekend.

The Argentine footballer made one of the most remarkable debuts in recent memory, scoring twice on Monday night against Swansea City in Manchester City’s 4-0 win.

The 23-year-old cost the cash rich club £38 million and wasn’t even available for the full preseason due to his participation in Copa America.

Aguero said: "I have just played for a few minutes but it was great to get my first goal, and that one at the end.

"Now I want to keep it going. This is a team that is growing and developing and I want to help them do that. This is a chance for me to change the league. This is a team with a lot of quality, I know it is a competitive league but we are here to win it in the end."

Aguero has become one of the most wagered on future bets of the week following his stellar performance.

As for Man City, their odds were still listed at 3 to 1 to win the 2011-2012 Premier League
