New England Patriots 2011 Odds

Gambling911.com has already touched on the New England Patriots odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl, which were around 5/1 as of August 21, 2011.  Here we look at the Pats odds when it comes to regular season wins total.

That number was set by oddsmakers at OVER/UNDER 11.5 -140.

On the surface, that number looks pretty low, especially when the oddsmakers have made New England the early favorite to win the 2012 Super Bowl.

It does make a degree of sense why the Patriots might be coming in at 11.5 on the OVER/UNDER.  Their home games won’t be easy.  Meetings include the Chargers, Jets, Cowboys, Giants, Chiefs and Colts.  It is conceivable that the Patriots could lose one or even two of these games, but we’ll say one.

On the road, New England faces three tough teams in the Jets, Steelers and Eagles.

Three losses, possible four, seem like the likely scenario.  As such, the Patriots winning OVER 11.5 regular season games at -140 does have good value.

Futures Betting Value Index:

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
