Lions vs. Jets Point Spread: 80 Percent of Bettors Backing Detroit

The Lions vs. Jets point spread had New York as a +2 home underdog against the NFL’s 2nd toughest defense.  This one opened at +1 and the line has gone all the way to +2.5 at some books. 80 percent of the betting public was backing Detroit here.

The Lions have not had a great deal of success on the road of late, going 3-9 both Straight Up and Against The Spread.

New York has a banged up secondary that will have a tough time fending off the Lions powerful Calvin Johnson.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan told the press he and his players stand fully behind Gino Smith as their franchise quarterback.

“I think everybody’s behind Geno,” Ryan said.  “He’s our quarterback and our football team believes in him, so that’s it.”

"Here's why I believe so much that Geno will improve: I've seen him improve," he added. "I've seen him make huge improvements, from where he was last year and from how he progressed through the season, where he's at. But I'll say this: I think he's going to continue to improve. I truly believe that."

The Jets are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating more than 250 yards      passing in their previous game
