Jets-Titans Betting Line at New York -3

In a game that only sports bettors and maybe the hardest core of either team’s fan base will want to follow, the Jets-Titans betting line had New York as a -3 road favorite

If you are wondering how the Jets can be favored anywhere on the road right now, it’s because the Titans are simply that much worse.  Tennessee ranks 29th in the NFL in offense and 31st in defense. It doesn’t help that they just lost quarterback Zach Mettenberger last week to injury so now they are stuck going back to Jake Locker. The team has been blown out in each of their last three losses.

The Jets have just two wins this season but they are still playing hard. They lost by just three points two weeks ago to Miami and they lost in overtime last week to Minnesota. Geno Smith actually looked somewhat competent last week but he is still not a good NFL quarterback and the defense is awful. The team would be better off losing this game to get a shot at Marcus Mariota.
“I know where fans are coming from,” Jets coach Rex Ryan said, “Absolutely. I get that. That doesn’t mean we’re going to approach this game any different. We’re going to try to win the game. I definitely understand if there was a Peyton Manning out there, whoever out there, you know Walter Payton, I’m not saying you throw it … we’re not. We’re trying to win the game.”
Translation: Expect the Jets to purposely lose this one.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
