Giants-Cowboys Betting Line at New York -1 to -1.5

The Giants-Cowboys betting line had moved off the PICK’EM to Giants -1 at most books, though a handful had moved to -1.5 for this late Sunday afternoon game.

70 percent of those betting this game were backing the Giants with New York receiving the 4^th most action of any side on average Sunday morning.

Dallas has won five of the last six games in this series with New York victorious in the last meeting.  The Cowboys will start Dak Prescott in place of the injured Tony Romo, who is expected to be out anywhere from six to ten weeks.  The Cowboys have opted not to start Mark Sanchez, who they obtained from Denver after Romo suffered his injury.

Prescott could even end up taking Romo’s starting position depending on how well he performs during his absence.

"From my understanding, talking to Cowboys people over the last several weeks, the door is open, though slightly, for Dak Prescott to come in and impress enough and potentially take Tony Romo's job, which is something that would have sounded crazy just a couple months ago," NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said. "In fact, when I talked to Stephen Jones a couple weeks ago, he actually brought up, himself, the Brady-Bledsoe comparison from 2001. This year is much different from last year. They are not sitting around waiting for Tony Romo to return. The confidence in Dak Prescott is palpable. They are going forward with him and whenever Romo returns, they will address that when it comes."   

The Giants, meanwhile, have bolstered their defense during the off season and will start 2016 under a new head coach.  

“I really like the way the guys have come together,” said defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, whose job it has been to mold the disparate parts into a cohesive unit. “I think the feel, the chemistry, the way they are kind of gelling a little bit on the field. I was in a back end meeting where we were doing all the pass plays, and even in the meeting, the talk, the communication has been really good. Kelvin Sheppard has been great in the middle, (safety) Landon (Collins) is another year into it, so he is talking more. Everybody, go back to when they were 22 years old and they were thrown into a situation where everybody was older than them and it was all new. you tend not to say very much. But these guys are kind of coming into their own and it is helping.”

The OVER is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings in Dallas between these two rivals.
