Carolina Panthers Odds to Win 2016 Super Bowl, NFC South

The Carolina Panthers odds to win the 2016 Super Bowl and the 2015 NFC South were at 45/1 and +220, respectively, identical odds to that of Atlanta.

Carolina overcame a lot last season – Cam Newton’s car accident being at the top of that list - after being left for dead.  They gave it their all in the end, winning five straight games to grab a Playoffs spot despite owning a losing record.

Positives: Carolina will still have a capable defense that will keep them in contention along with their star quarterback, Cam Newton.  Second-round draft pick Devin Funchess should help Carolina’s offense improve.   Playing in a weak division should also enhance their chances for a third consecutive division win.  A soft schedule early on can get them jump started.

Negatives:  The offense has some holes.  Left tackle Michael Oher replaces Byron Bell after having little success in Tennessee.  Franchise leader DeAngelo Williams is no longer with the team.

Final Analysis:  On paper at least, this looks like it could be the best team in the NFC South.  That’s not saying much though.  Carolina’s defense will allow it to win games.  The offense needs work. Carolina is slightly favored to win 8 or fewer games at -130 with the OVER at EVEN odds.  Personally, we would rather take Carolina over Atlanta at the +220 division price tag.

NFC West Odds to Win Division:

Carolina 2/1

Atlanta +220

New Orleans +220

Tampa Bay 7/1
