2014, 2015 NFL Betting Odds for the Dallas Cowboys: Preseason Precursor

The 2014, 2015 NFL betting odds for the Dallas Cowboys were coming in at 5/1 to win the NFC East, worse odds than Washington, 75-1 to win the Super Bowl and they were listed at -145 to win 7 or fewer regular season games.

If their first preseason game of 2014 was any indication, we’ll take that UNDER.  Dallas lost to San Diego 7-27.

Tony Romo sat out this game healing from an injury so we don’t really know what the offense will hold come September.  We do know the Dallas defense is borderlin disastrous.  The Dallas defense managed to allow 221 total yards.  The Cowboys also allowed Chargers quarterbacks to complete 14 of 16 passes.

"We can make great strides," defensive end Jeremy Mincey said. "It was just base fundamental football. Not going to run our scheme during the preseason, that doesn’t make sense, (no) game plan. But the good thing is seeing who has heart and who has ability and develop depth. We’re working hard. The young guys want to play. There was a lot of mistakes made, a lot of things we’ve got to clean up, a lot of guys missing assignments and missed tackles. That’s going to happen."

Perhaps, but it seems to happen a lot more frequently with the Cowboys than with most teams.  And it happened a lot last season.

"I believe these 2nd tier players need to be out there competing against the other teams first stringers," noted Jason Gott of Fansided.
