Wayne Root the Next Oscar-damus?

Heading into this weekend's Oscars, former Libertarian  Vice Presidential nominee, Wayne Allyn Root, had made his predictions on the Hollywood event.  This was our most read article over the course of a few days.  His predictions:  A perfect 5-0.

So is Root the next Nostradamus...or maybe Oscar-damus?

Root says he understands the psychology and psychosis of liberals. "Liberals are so predictable in their guilt, hypocrisy, and 'group think' it is hilarious. I achieved a perfect 5 for 5 Academy Award prediction record by simply putting myself in the mind of an Obama-idolizing Hollywood liberal. I merely voted for whatever a guilt-ridden, hypocritical Hollywood liberal would vote for."

One oddsmaker told Gambling911.com:  You didn't have to get into the liberal mindset to know who would win this year's Oscars.

"I love Wayne," said the oddsmaker,  "but seriously, everyone and their mother knew who would win what Oscar with the exception of ‘Best Actor', which could have gone to Mickey Rourke.  Wayne Root taking ‘Slumdog Millionaire" to win this year's Academy Award for ‘Best Picture' was like taking the New York Yankees to beat the Bad News Bears."

Root says, "While my Oscar Predictions were offered to the media to provide a little humor in the midst of an unprecedented economic crisis, they actually also served a serious purpose. These predictions offer insights into the thinking of the liberals who populate Washington D.C. and the Obama administration. The liberal group-think that led to these Oscar choices is the same mindest that has supported wasteful trillion-dollar bailouts; economic stimulus packages that will damage the American economy; and 'tax cuts' for people who don't pay taxes. It is the same thinking that will lead to the nationalization of American banks, despite Obama's denials. It is the same thinking that could lead to thedeath of free speech with the passage of the so-called 'Fairness Act' to put government in charge of the radio airwaves. It is this same kind of pathetic, guilt-ridden liberal thinking that could lead to the destruction of capitalism, free markets and the American economy."

Mr. Root is the author of the upcoming book, "The Conscience of a Libertarian: Empowering the Citizen Revolution with God, Guns, Gambling & Tax Cuts! "

"economic stimulus packages

"economic stimulus packages that will damage the American economy" Right on Wayne. You guys want a sure thing? Short/sell the stock market because a depression is just around the corner.

Root is a sad joke

Wayne Root is not an asset to the Libertarian Party he is a liability.

I'm voting for Wayne, President of the USA in 2012!

He'll win the Libertarian Party nomination in 2012, in spite of his views about "god" (and its rather misleading inclusion into his book title). Marketing the LP _primarily_ to conservatives is a dire error. It wasn't conservatives that were the fuel behind the Ron Paul revolution, it was liberals. Conservatives don't change their minds. Liberals do. (LOL ...at least they're often willing to admit how little they know!) In spite of all that, Wayne is the guy for Libertarians to run in 2012. Why? Because he knows that his religious views should be kept out of government, and because private citizens often use their religiously-informed consciences to vote "not guilty" when they sit on juries. These explanations in his book are likely to play damage control. I don't know since I haven't read it yet, so I am doing some assuming here. But let's just say that he comes off as a guy who honestly believes in god, leprechauns, unicorns, and other mythical creatures. He wouldn't sound worse than Obama or Bush on those issues, and he does know that if he wins election, he needs to keep his religious views out of the office. This would give anti-theist libertarian-leaning Democrats and Republicans a reason to avoid him, but that's not most voters. Most voters wouldn't care, or would actually approve. Those who do care and are anti-theist (like myself) will research the issue and see that Wayne is an anomaly, (along with Ron Paul). Catching on? No politician is ever going to get elected who is perfect. The perfect is the enemy of the good. If I can run a candidate who wants to end the fed, and his belief in unicorns makes him more electable, then fine! Let's have the first unicorn believer in National office. Sure, Wayne would be a more attractive libertarian if he didn't have any conservative history. As long as he ditches the small amount of "conservative" rhetoric he still includes in his speeches, he'll do fine in 2012. In fact, he'll do better than any other Libertarian candidate, including Ed Clark. Why? Because he's not a useless lazy bastard, and because he tries hard, and because he doesn't heap scorn and derision on the American voter, but he also doesn't engage in complex philosophical explanations to them either. (In all fairness, Browne was a great speaker, but even he didn't have 1/4 of Root's campaign energy or political savvy.) Root is tirelessly on CNN. He represents the LP well, except where he mentions god in his book title. This is a minor gaffe that actually probably results in expanded demographic approval from the less-libertarian public (minus libertarian-leaning leftists who represent the largest growth area for the LP). I'll take Wayne's effectiveness over further marginalization and silence any day.

A worse embarrassment for libertarians

If you think Root is embarrassing to the gambling profession how do you think it is for libertarians? Ever since he redefined libertarian to include his rather dumb views of the world he has been humiliating libertarians with his big mouth. The one virtue of his big mouth is that it is sufficient to house his foot which is often inserted there. An example is that the libertarian "revolution" is not rooted in God as he claims. It is secular and allows each person to make up their own mind on such things. To assert that God is somehow connected to libertarianism is Root taking his conservative absurdities and imposing them on libertarians. The only reason he won't go back to the Republicans is that they don't want him either.

No More Wayne

Wayne, You are an embarrassment to our industry. Go away...I feel sorry for your wife, I can only hope your tool is half as large as your ego but I have a sneaky feeling they sit on opposite sides of the spectrum! Friends of the "NO MORE WAYNE on G911" group

Wayne is a Very Popular Read Here

Whether you love him or hate him. He's sort of like our Sean Hannity I suppose (minus the same views). It's good to have a few figures on here who can stir things up a bit. We also have a bleeding heart liberal on staff - Payton O'Brien. Then there is that conservative McCain loving right wing zealot, Joe Brennan, Jr., who makes an appearance now and again. Hopefully he doesn't read this (his name won't pop up in Google alerts from comments we make about him lol).

Then There is Jenny Woo

Our Right Wing Christian. She's probably the one who comes on here and posts in the ALL CAPS quoting Bible verses.
