There are odds on who will be named Zoo Magazine's Coolest Man of 2008 and the favorite is F1 ace Lewis Hamilton at 3/1 odds of a payout of US$300 on every US$100 bet at Paddy Power.

In an interview with the Woking News and Mail, a local paper in the McLaren team's home town, Hamilton explained that he preferred not to read press coverage about him, but was happy to continue co-operating with the media. "The media attention comes with the job, and it was one of the biggest changes to my life when I arrived in Formula 1 from GP2," he said.

"But I like talking to the media, and I know they're important to Formula 1's success."

Hamilton, who looks a little like US President-Elect Barack Obama, gets tons of press...and with good reason.

In his first season in Formula One, Hamilton set numerous rookie records and finished second in the 2007 Formula One Championship, behind Kimi Räikkönen by just one point. His first world championship was won the following season by the same margin of a single point, ahead of Felipe Massa. He has stated that he wants to stay with the McLaren team for the rest of his F1 career.

But who cares about all that.

What really makes Lewis Hamilton the favorite to be named Zoo Magazine's Coolest Man of 2008?

Hamilton is currently dating Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of the American girl band Pussycat Dolls.

You can't get much cooler than that.

Paddy Power does not take bets from US citizens.
