Best Picture Odds – 2014 Academy Awards (Updated)

Best Picture odds for the 2014 Academy Awards had “12 Years a Slave” as the odds-on favorite still at Bookmaker.

Bookmaker also has the best odds on “12 Years a Slave” at -331, requiring just $31 to win $10 (the $31 bet is refunded assuming it is a winner and you would profit $10).  This is actually our big Oscar pick.  These are solid odds considering some categories require a $200 or greater bet to win $10.

The Field option at Bookmaker includes “Gravity” and would pay out just shy of $30 for every $10 bet.

“12 Years a Slave” is set in the pre-Civil War United States where Solomon Northup, a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty at the hands of a malevolent slave owner, as well as unexpected kindnesses, Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity. In the twelfth year of his unforgettable odyssey, Solomon's chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist will forever alter his life.
