Best Actor Odds – 2014 Academy Awards (Updated)

Best Actor odds for the 2014 Academy Awards had Matthew McConaughey as the odds-on favorite still at Bookmaker.  These odds were listed at 1/5.  In Oscar terms, McConaughey is not necessarily a “lock”.

Leonardo DiCaprio was listed among the Field options that would pay better than 5/1 odds. He is seen as someone that could potentially upset at this year’s Academy Awards, though we at Gambling911.com just don’t see that happening.

McConaughey  stars as AIDS patient Ron Woodroof, who smuggled unapproved pharmaceutical drugs into Texas when he found them effective at improving his symptoms, distributing them to fellow sufferers by establishing the eponymous "Dallas Buyers Club" while facing opposition from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Chiwetel Ejiofor (Twelve Years A Slave) had odds of 15/1 at Sportsbook.com.  Christian Bale (American Hustle) would pay out $800 for every $10 bet with a win.  Bruce Dern (Nebraska) would pay $600.
