2010 Oscars Results and Payouts

Carrie Stroup here and I will report all night providing Gambling911.com readers with all the latest 2010 Oscars results and payouts from bets placed at my favorite online gambling website Sportsbook.com.

The Oscars are among the top 5 most bet on single day events.  Gambling911.com was anticipating record traffic numbers with Oscar betting-related search consistently brisk throughout the past 12 hours.

To nobody's surprise, probably the biggest favorite of the night took home his Oscar and that would be Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds.  He was especially pricey at -3500 so betting on Waltz wasn't exactly an option.

"Essentially, Waltz is a ‘lock' to win," explained Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website heading into the awards show.  "You don't get odds like these and lose.  It's like the New York Yankees playing the Bad News Bears."

Up! was the favorite to win Best Animated Film and it did just that.

Best Song went to The Weary Kind, from Crazy Heart, which was the favorite to win.

Best Original Screenplay went to The Hurt Locker, which actually paid out 2/1 odds as it was not the favorite to win.  Inglourious Basterds was the favorite.

Mo'Nique has just won for Best Supporting Actress.  She was the big favorite in this category.

Best Foreign Language Film was a bit of an upset going to El Secreto de Sus Ojos and paying out nearly $30 for every $10 bet.

Jeff Bridges won Best Actor and was the huge favorite to do so for his role in Crazy Heart.

Sandra Bullock has won for Best Actress for her role in The Blind Side.  She was the small favorite.

Best Director went to the -600 favorite Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker and the first Academy Award going to a female Director.  Congrats to her.

The Hurt Locker has won for Best Picture.  It had become the slight favorite in recent days.
