Washington Legalizes Sports Betting

Washington lawmakers advanced a bill that would permit sports betting at the state's Tribal casinos in 2021 and Governor Jay Inselee signed off to make Washington the 21st state to legalize betting on sports.

A House appropriations committee voted 25-7 to forward sports gambling bill HB 2638 in which lawmakers ultimately voted in favor of sports wagering, just not on mobile devices and only at the Tribal casinos.  Those sportsbooks located outside the state are still accessible for those 18 and up. 

There are a total of 28 casinos in the state of Washington.

First Casino to Take Sports Bets

Snoqualmie Casino was the first of the tribal casinos to begin taking sports bets. They also offer an app that can be used on the property. Wagers can be placed at the sportsbook window during operating hours and at 12 sportsbook kiosks located on the main casino floor 24-hours a day. Located in Snoqualmie, Wash., the casino is the closest to Seattle.

Huskies Football 2023-24 Championship Game

The Washington Huskies were favored to win 9 regular season games in 2023 and have easily sailed OVER that total with an undefeated record coming into the final two games before the bowls begin.
