Games played in Colorado are a total bettor’s dream, and with good reason.  Thus far this season, the OVER has gone 25-16 in Colorado.

The Rays and Rockies haven’t met in three years so we will examine recent runs allowed by both Rockies and Rays starters who are taking to the mound in this series.

There is no way we will take the OVER in Game One as Tyler Anderson has allowed fewer than four runs in all six of his starts this season.  This one had a total of 11.5.

Tyler Chatwood (8-5) gave up four earned runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings in Sunday's 10-3 loss to the Phillies so we anticipate him pitching better against the Rays on Tuesday.  Four of his last five starts in Colorado have concluded with fewer than 9.5 runs scored between both teams.

Jorge De La Rosa (6-6) allowed two runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two over six innings to earn the win Friday at the Braves.  But get this, four of his  last fifteen starts in Colorado have resulted in fifteen runs or more despite allowing no more than three runs in any of his last nine starts overall.

Jumping to the Rays Chris Archer, he’s lost in six straight starts coming into Colorado.  Five of the last six games he has started, he has allowed four or more runs.   He’s allowed 5, 4, 3 and 5 runs in his last four road games.

Problem: The total will probably be 12.5 or higher with Archer starting for Tampa Bay but the Rays have scored 4 or fewer runs in eight of their last ten games overall with two others featuring five runs scored.

De La Rosa is a good pitcher going up against a bad team that has lost nine of their last ten games overall.  Archer will come into this one desperate.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
