While you will be able to place bets on these teams or games featuring these teams from within Iowa, both online and at retail sportsbooks, game and player props will be prohibited.

Such props include the Margin of Victory and whether a particular player scores OVER or UNDER a set number of points in the game.  These types of props will still be available from the offshore sportsbooks.

Most college age persons will be unable to place bets via Iowa-based sportsbooks as the minimum age, like with consumption of alcoholic beverages, is 21. Offshore sportsbooks do have a competitive edge here as they allow those 18 and up to place bets online

Anyone looking to place a bet with an in-state operated sportsbook online must first register at the casino until January 1, 2021, at which time registrations will be permitted via the Internet.  Mobile wagering with Iowa-based sportsbooks may not be available until after the 2019 college football season is already underway.  We base this on the delays encountered in other states such as West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Those betting with in-state sportsbooks, whether in person or via a mobile device, will likely have to provide their social security number, or the last four digits, for documentation and reporting purposes.
