What Should the Spread on the Iowa vs. Maryland Game be?

Two 4-0 teams come into this Week 5 matchup.  Ahead of Week 4, the Hawkeyes were ranked 5th in the nation and rated 7th among all College Football teams with a rating of 85.32.  Maryland was the 45th rated team at 74.33.  That gave us an early spread of Iowa -8.  The updated ratings were released much later than normal Sunday with Iowa 86.48 and Maryland 76.95, thus adjusting our line to Iowa -6.5 to -7.  The line ultimately opened at Iowa -4, shifting to -3.5 by Sunday evening.

Coming Into Week 5

Both teams come into this game 4-0 Straight Up and 3-1 Against The Spread.

While Iowa beat Colorado State, this was not a pretty win. Spencer Petras threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns as Iowa needed a second-half comeback to win 24-14.

Maryland's win was more dominating over Kent State.  Taulia Tagovailoa threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns, and Maryland beat Kent State 37-16 on Saturday.

“We haven’t played to the standard, but I definitely want to give our team credit that we’re sitting here at 4-0 and we’re disappointed,” he said. “That means that we’re heading in the right direction. We’ve got a locker room full of guys that are happy we won, but not happy with the way we played.”
