What Are The Payout Odds Naomi Osaka Winning the French Open 2019

Naomi Osaka will pay out $35 for every $10 bet with a French Open win in 2019.

The two-time major champion has her eyes on the prize at Roland Garros.

"I always had really big goals and dreams. I always thought I would be No.1 and win a Grand Slam [by the time] I was 18. I know that sounds kind of crazy," she said coming into this week's tournament.

Clay could present Osaka with a big challenge, however.

The Japan Times writes:

Faster courts are undoubtedly better suited to Osaka’s aggressive brand of tennis. The high, slow bounce on the clay tends to reward those who like to put a lot of topspin on the ball and defend, as opposed to flat hitters who prefer to attack. Slower courts naturally lead to longer rallies and fewer aces, both detrimental for a player of Osaka’s makeup.

But more than that, like most players who grow up playing in North America — as Osaka did after her family left Japan when she was a toddler — a lack of familiarity with clay courts has held her back. From footwork to point construction, it’s a whole different game on clay and it can take players who develop their games on hard courts — as is the case for most Americans — a while to adapt.
