Vin Diesel, Jake
Gyllenhaal, Oprah Winfrey all favorites to come out
of the closet
I
was really shocked to learn that Vin Diesel is the
favorite to be the next big name celebrity "outed"
or admits he is gay....ok, not really.
Though I sincerely hope it's not true. Vin
Diesel can be in the worst flick - even that dark
alien film from a few years back - and his bulging
biceps alone are enough to keep Jenny's ADT in line.
Gay or nay?
Vin Diesel, Jake
Gyllenhaal, Oprah Winfrey, Keanue Reeves, Anderson
Cooper. These
are all candidates to come out of the closet next,
according to controversial website
BetUS.com (See
Web Site Here),
which has placed odds on each of these celebrities
and their potential "coming out parties".
“We have Vin Diesel as
the favorite at 4/1 odds to admit he is gay", said
Matt Ross, spokesperson at "BetUS.com".
On a "statement" posted on the website, Ross said:
"Image is everything for those in the public eye and
they are always under scrutiny. Many pretend to lead
a life in the public that is quite different from
their actual life. Maintaining a favorable persona
is an intricate part in dictating the future of
one's career. Accordingly, many public figures
prefer to keep their personal lives private, but
many times that task is difficult to preserve"
Acording to him public figure will be the first to
admit to having a relationship with the same sex. In
the "bet" they made, Vin Diesel is the favorite with
4-1 odds followed by Keanue Reeves at 5-1 and the
infamous Oprah Winfrey at 6-1.
Jenny's fantasy is to
have Vin Diesel and Jake Gyllenhaal come out
together.
Vin Diesel told
Details Magazine after a female radio talk show
host asked him the question point blank:
“I was like, ‘How
could you say that? Why would you say that?’
I’m not gonna put it out there on a magazine cover
like some other actors. I come from the Harrison
Ford, Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino code
of silence. I’m not gonna do that.”
For that reason, Diesel prefers dating in Europe,
where he’s not as easily recognized, according to
the magazine. He thinks celebrity-on-celebrity
hookups are crazy. People going through your trash,
taking your photo at Starbucks, mashing up your last
names into a Bennifer-style punch line. “It’s a
sucker’s bet,” he says.
Jake Gyllenhaal?
He was injured during
gay "love making" scenes while shooting "Brokeback
Mountain". It can be presumed he didn't know
what he was doing.
Keanue Reeves?
Say it isn't so!
Keanu Reeves once played a credible bisexual hustler
in "My Own Private Idaho." Why, we actually
learned he could act. Then again, maybe
the role came naturally. Who knows?
"There's nothing wrong with being gay," Keanu Reeves
told Vanity Fair, "so to deny it is to make a
judgment. And why make a big deal of it?"
There was even a rumor
out there that Reeves had married record mogul David
Geffen. WTF?
Keanu himself
continues to help fuel the fire. In an interview
with USA Today, Reeves was quoted as saying:
"It's, you know, the whole aspect of coming out. I
mean, there is a whole, people, you know, who are
gay (who) have decided that it can be--that whole
thing about calling people out..."
Then there is CNN
news anchor and hurricane crazy, Anderson Cooper.

Some in the gay
community believe that Cooper's sexual orientation
is an "open-secret" and want him to publicly 'come
out'. It has been further claimed, e.g., on
blogACTIVE, that discussion of Cooper's sexuality is
increasingly seen as a liability to his career and
so is no longer acknowledged; "his handlers at CNN
[are] known to call sites and ask editors to delete
references to Anderson Cooper being gay." Blogger
Andy Towle referred to Cooper as "the most openly
closeted gay man in America" after reading a New
York magazine article which reported on the matter
as follows:
There has been a lot of chatter on the Internet
about the fact that Cooper may or may not be gay,
and Village Voice columnist Michael Musto has taken
pleasure in quoting the gay magazine Metrosource,
which has referred to Cooper as "the openly gay news
anchor." It has been assumed in certain circles in
New York partly because he lives what looks to some
to be a gay social life. He’s often seen at parties
with Barry Diller, and he's friends with the lead
singer from the outré gay rock band the Scissor
Sisters. There was also a slightly heated interview
last fall with Jerry Falwell about gay marriage.
Some Cooper-obsessed bloggers insist that the anchor
outed himself on the air, taking the gay side of the
debate and saying, "We pay taxes." They claim CNN
originally posted a transcript with the "we" and
then later changed it to "You pay taxes."
When I bring up the sexuality issue with Cooper, he
says, "You know, I understand why people might be
interested. But I just don’t talk about my personal
life. It’s a decision I made a long time ago, before
I ever even knew anyone would be interested in my
personal life. The whole thing about being a
reporter is that you're supposed to be an observer
and to be able to adapt with any group you’re in,
and I don’t want to do anything that threatens
that."
