Will Sports Betting Move Forward in Colorado

Some day later today we will learn if Proposition DD wins.  This is the amendment where voters will make the decision on whether sports gambling becomes legalized in Colorado.

Many have been critical about how the language appears, citing the first sentence that seems to imply taxes will be increased.

One positive perhaps is that only the most dedicated of Colorado's residents are likely to vote this day as it's an "off" election year.

But an amendment to increase taxes on cigarettes could push a certain sector of the community out to the voting booths.  These folks might not be so inclined to vote for a gambling bill that starts off "Shall state taxes be increased by twenty-nine million dollars annually...."

You can follow the results here (they should start rolling in some time after 9 pm ET)

Penn National Gaming Looking for a Media Partnership

PNG is looking for a partner in order to get a stronger foothold in the sports betting market. At the moment, the brand operates in 19 states across the country. What PNG would like is to form a partnership with a leading sports media company as explained by CEO Timothy Wilmott.

He noted that PNG already has deals in place with sport betting companies. They have four deals with DraftKings, theScore, PointsBet and The Stars Group. They also have an exclusive betting partnership with Kambi. These deals that were announced back in August, allowed the company to offer online gambling and sports betting at their properties that are located in states where legalized sports gambling is permitted.  Source: SportsBookReview
