Marketing compliance expert Rightlander released a new ‘Fast Track’ incentive monitoring study following the Spanish government's order to restrict the promotion of games of chance and online gaming on all advertisement chains.  The country took this action as all of its citizens are required to remain indoors during the current coronavirus pandemic.

Rightlander.com has published a special report to tackle non-compliant affiliates that lets operators easily recognise affiliate pages offering rewards alongside an operator’s brand while also highlighting keywords suggesting gambling can change a person's life by either improving their lifestyle or appearance during these critical times where the population is more vulnerable.

Ian Sims, Rightlander.com founder said: “Judging from the influx of requests we’ve received this announcement made a sudden and big impact. Rightlander is ideally positioned to make these sorts of snap decisions as we already have a substantial database of Spanish language affiliate sites that we scan regularly, although, until now that has mainly been for affiliate links to non-ES domains, as per the local regulator’s guidelines.”

Worldwide disruption of the sports events due to COVID-19 is playing a major role in the halt of the sports betting industry. Restarting the industry will not be easy and we certainly can't get back and see the same results as we did at the end of 2019. We are speaking here about the classic sports betting industry as virtual sports, eSports, social gaming have now become very popular.

The panel discussion will be joined by Domenico Mazzola (Commercial Director at Altenar), Jakub Myszkorowski (Chief Commercial Officer at STATSCORE), Chris Nikolopoulos (CCO at BETBY) and Sergio Stankovic (Sales Director at SBTech), and will be moderated by Jaka Repanšek (Media and Gaming Expert).

As mentioned above the virtual edition of #MBGS2020VE will be held on the 7th of May and will gather 300 gambling industry professionals who can attend virtually from their internet browser. The gathering will allow virtual delegates to network at virtual tables in the virtual deal room and conduct 1 on 1 meetings with their prospects/clients/partners.

We are writing to inform you that due to the changing regulatory landscape in the UK, we have made the decision to reduce our affiliate base in the UK. Consequently, it is with regret that we will be ending our affiliate relationship with you in relation to the UK market only.

The ability to meet evolving regulatory requirements within the UK is key to our business strategy, therefore we have taken this difficult decision to ensure we maintain the highest standards of marketing from a compliance and responsible gambling perspective. Although we will continue to work with selected partners, rest assured that this announcement covers the vast majority of our UK affiliate database. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication all our partners have invested in promoting the Betway brand in the UK.

This decision does not impact our non-UK activity, so if you are planning to, or already promote Betway in other territories across the globe then we look forward to carrying on our relationship with you in this regard.

We will be able to continue working with you up until the 30th April 2020 in the UK. In the meantime, our team will be on hand to respond to any queries you may have – you can get in touch via support@betwaypartners.com.

The action required from you is to please remove any Betway promotional materials from UK facing assets by 30th April 2020. In accordance with our terms, all UK related commission will cease on 30th April 2020. Non-UK commission will continue to be paid.

Once again, we would like to reiterate our gratitude for your partnership with us in the UK and thank you for all of your efforts.
