You will soon be able to use the Draftkings app from within the state of West Virginia. Currently sports betting online is only available via licensed offshore sportsbooks.

*18 years or older permitted (WV sportsbooks require 21 and older)
*Up to $2000 welcome bonus (WV sportsbooks much lower bonus offers)
*Highest betting limits on the Web (WV sportsbooks will report winnings)
*Best in-play betting all NBA, NHL Playoffs games (WV sportsbooks like limited in-play)
*In business since 1986

Testing was completed Wednesday afternoon on a sports betting app for Hollywood Casino at Charles Town.

The state lottery has been conducting tests on the Draftings app with Lottery Director John Myers saying it has passed all testing.

“We were making sure we can get the reports out of it that we need. Making sure that we can verify the player that has the account is the one playing and to make sure the geo-location system works and those people are actually located inside the state of West Virginia,” Myers said.

So far West Virginia is off to a disastrous start in the mobile sports betting market with Delaware North terminating its relationship with sports betting supplier, Miomni.  The Mardi Gras and Wheeling Casino retail sportsbook outlets were also affected by the suspension.  Delaware North is now suing Miomni for misrepresentation.

Draftkings is already proven in New Jersey.  It and FanDuel have cornered around three quarters of the NJ sports betting market even with around a dozen companies operating sites there.

The Lottery expects Hollywood Casino to roll out the app in a soft opening sometime next week.  The Draftkings website should be fully operational by football.

Other big name players also have a foothold in West Virgina including William Hill (Hollywood Casino) and FanDuel (The Greenbrier).

Limitations in West Virginia are nominal.  Betting on the Mountaineers is permitted.  Gamblers must be 21 or older.
