Canada Money Launderer Shows Holes in Vegas Casinos

LOS ANGELES, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Las Vegas has cleaned up since its days as a magnet for ill-gotten mobster gains, but a Canadian insider trading scam has exposed the smaller-scale money laundering still going on in the desert city's casinos.

Canadian Stanko Grmovsek admitted in a Toronto court earlier this year to making $9 million with a law school buddy in a 14-year illegal scheme. Court documents show he said he laundered some of it by gambling wads of cash on games like blackjack in Vegas's world-famous casino strip.

Aced.com Online Poker Room Can’t Pay Players

Online poker players appear to be in the line of fire of a highly publicized payment dispute between money processing platform PIC Club Poker and the Merge Poker Network.

Gambling911.com has obtained an email correspondence between one of Merge Poker's online sites whereby a customer is told flat out they cannot pay him.  The online poker room in question is Aced.com, which operates on the Merge network.

Merge Poker Falls Through on Promise to Pay PIC Club

In a hotly contested dispute over payment, online poker payment platform PIC Club claims it has yet to receive monies promised by Merge Poker, an online poker network.

PIC Club states that Merge owes much more money in fees, however, Merge has argued that some customers of PIC Club have been "taking them for a ride" by joining Merge poker rooms and quickly leaving.  Each deposit into a Merge poker room results in fees as do withdrawals.

Gambling911.com has obtained a "settlement" email correspondence between PIC Club CEO Chuck Kidd and Merge Poker CEO Anthony Taylor.
