With Sportsbook.com members already rushing to sign-up for this contest, here are some of the latest news and notes coming from spring training and the World Baseball Classic.

The rosters for the WBC are unveiled and you can go here for the full lists. All 39 games are going to be televised by ESPN and the MLB network beginning March 5th and going through the 23rd

The Dominican Republic remains the favorite at 7:5 with USA very close behind at 8:5. Defending champion Japan is 6:1, while Cuba (8:1), Venezuela (10:1) and Puerto Rico (12:1) all have proud baseball heritages and a great chance at a moderate upset.

Turning to spring training, the hoopla surrounding New York's Alex Rodriguez is not going to die down anytime soon. That's going to affect some of his teammates who just want to put the whole steroid business thing behind them and concentrate on baseball.

With the Yanks still the top-dog at 3:1 chalk to win the World Series, it may be time to look at some other teams who offer better value at Sportsbook.com.

The Minnesota Twins made some noise recently with the signing of third baseman Joe Crede from the Chicago White Sox. He can pay big dividends if healthy and the Twins are the co-favorite with Cleveland for the AL Central title at 7:2 odds.  Detroit, with a much larger payroll, is at 7:4 odds, while Crede's former Sox team is 4:1.

The Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers saga could finally be ending soon. No other team is entering the bidding and L.A. needs their slugger back, so expect it to get done. The Dodgers are 8:1 to win the N.L. Pennant but those odds will drop as soon as the official announcement is made.

The Milwaukee Brewers are an interesting team to win the Pennant at 17:1 odds due to the bats they can put in the lineup every day. The problem is the starting pitching with C.C. Sabathia and Ben Sheets both gone. Yovani Gallardo is healthy and ready to step up but another frontline pitcher must be picked up at some point this season for those odds to pay off.
