"Tonight, I call on the McCain campaign to stop treating Sarah Palin like she is a delicate flower that will wilt at any moment . . . By treating Sarah Palin different from the other candidates in this race, you're not showing her the respect she deserves."

"Free Sarah Palin!" CNN anchor, Campbell Brown demanded at the end of her editorial.

When asked to respond to Brown's biting critique Tuesday evening, John McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers had no comment.

Brown delivered her tirade after John McCain campaign aides tried to ban reporters from covering Palin's much-touted meetings in New Yorkwith Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the Ticket notes.

"Brown is articulating what I've heard from several independent women voters. And she is giving the most concise statement yet of how many journalists view the effort to avoid Palin from being seen in anything than scripted settings," writes Joe Gandleman, Editor-in-Chief of the Moderate Voice.

But it's the economy that really has people on edge and the current crisis is hardly helping the Republican Presidential candidate, John McCain, as Barack Obama's odds to take the White House moved up from -180 to -190 on Thursday. Both candidates were in a virtual dead heat just two weeks ago.
