Yoon is the former prosecutor who served as the 13th president of South Korea from 2022 until he was removed from office in 2025. A member of the People Power Party during his presidency, he was the shortest-serving directly elected president in the country democratic history.

South Korea’s Constitutional Court unanimously removed Yoon Suk Yeol from office Friday, ending his tumultuous presidency and setting up a new election, four months after he threw the nation into turmoil with an ill-fated declaration of martial law.

A South Korean court rejected on Wednesday a request to issue an arrest warrant for the former president.

South Korea's special prosecutor had asked the court on Tuesday to issue an arrest warrant for Yoon as an investigation intensified over the ousted leader's botched bid to declare martial law.

This betting market will resolve to "Yes" if Yoon Suk Yeol spends any time in custody in a jail or prison between June 25 and July 31, 2025, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from involved government(s), however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
