Ted Cruz to Take Part in Poker Fundraiser Where Attendees Are 'Worth 10 Percent of US GDP'
Maybe he was exaggerating just a tad. Mike "The Mouth" Matusow announced on his call in show "The Mouthpiece" that Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz would be taking part in an upcoming poker fundraiser where the 16 or so people attending make up around "10 percent of the US GDP".
"I asked someone how much these people are worth," Matusow said during his show. "'100 billion?' Was told 'not even close'," as he went on to explain they were worth much more.
Other than Cruz, Matusow didn't elaborate on who these folks in attendance are exactly.
To put this in some perspective, the USA nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) stands at approximately $30.34 trillion, maintaining its position as the world's largest economy by nominal GDP.
The Texas Senator, and "The Mouth" for that matter, are mere paupers in this crowd.
Cruz is believed to be worth a mere $7.9 million last week checked.
Cruz is a good poker player and "a really nice guy" according to Matusow.
The Texas Senator appeared on a Season 13 episode of Poker After Dark where they competed for their favorite charity.
Mike's most recent podcast had him predicting Bitcoin could hit $150,000 in the next two weeks. Folks calling in were not necessarily all fans either as some berated "The Mouth" before hanging up.
Matusow is an ardent supporter of US President Donald Trump and defended his recent tariff implementations.
"He's either going to go down as the greatest president of all time or he's going to go down as the worst president of all time.
"Anybody who doesn't realize Trump is just playing poker is just ridiculous."
