Punta Cana Poker Classic

Our eyes and ears at the Punta Cana Poker Classic headquarters have advised G911.co that at least 200 of some of Sweden’s hottest poker players (we’re talking looks and skill) will be on hand at this upcoming November’s mega event featuring a guaranteed $500,000!

The organizers have close ties to the Swedish poker playing community.

“We’re catering for players all over the globe,” 2010 Punta Cana Poker Classic organizer Ivonne Brath told Gambling911.com.  Brath had previously worked for Ongame, the online poker network based out of Sweden, and brought a number of Swedish players to the resort.  “This was our first event and we had 22 (Swedish) players but 60 are coming next year.”

The Winning Poker Network is home to what has become one of the largest online poker rooms partnering with this event, Americas Cardroom, formerly known as Doyle's Room.

Last year’s final table was represented by 8 different nations including Sweden, Spain, the USA, Canada, Costa Rica, Finland, Italy and Ecuador.

Sweden just missed being ranked as one of the top 10 gambling nations in the world though both its neighbors, Norway and Finland, made the cut.
