Poker Player of the Year Rankings 2011: Eugene Katchalov

The Poker Player of the Year rankings for 2011 have Eugene Katchalov on top at Bluff Magazine and coming in at number 3 this week at Card Player.

Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Katchalov, 20, moved to Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 10.  He is classified as representing the Ukraine.

His run this year has been nothing short of amazing including a 1st place finish at the World Series of Poker 7 Card Stud, where he walked away with $122,909.  Katchalov’s biggest win of the year was a 3rd place finish at last month’s EPT Barcelona, which paid $451,872.

He also finished 2nd earlier in the year at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.  He took home $131,920 in that event.
