From casual poker-playing astrophysics student to a respected member of UltimateBet's world renowned team of pros, Liv Boeree has rocketed herself to the top of the poker world in just a few short years. UltimateBet today announced that Boeree, the former brand ambassador for Absolute Poker, has earned a spot on UltimateBet's Team UB alongside Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke.

"It's an honor to play with the two people who helped launch my poker career," stated Liv Boeree. "Annie and Phil are two of my favorite players so to sit on the same team as them is a bit of a surreal experience but one I'm definitely proud of."

Boeree began her poker career on the television series UltimatePoker.com Showdown in August 2005. There, she learned some valuable tips from Annie Duke, one of the poker world's best female players. It was on UltimatePoker.com Showdown that Liv also earned the respect of 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth.

In just a few years, Liv Boeree has secured multiple top-10 finishes in a number of first place wins in Texas Hold'em tournaments across London. In May 2008, Boeree claimed the top spot in the Ladbrokes European Ladies Championship, besting a field of 53 players for $30,000 in cash and positioning herself as a top female poker player.

Recently, Liv took the 2009 WPT Championships series in April by storm by making two side event final tables and finishing 37th in the main event for $41,000.

Poker players who have yet to see Liv in action are likely to still recognize her. Liv has worked as a TV presenter, writer and interviewer on some of the most popular poker broadcasts including Ultimatepoker.com Showdown, Gutshot TV, Daily Express, Challenge TV, Gala UK Poker Tour, Sky Poker TV, Poker Verdict, Ladies' World Poker Open, and the WSOPE.

Online poker players at UltimateBet can employ the online poker site's free UltimateBuddy feature to discover where Liv Boeree is playing.
