Phil Ivey was out in 3rd place, denied of getting his 9th bracelet at the World Series of Poker Event 24:  Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better.  Instead it was Joe Cassidy vs. Scotty Nguyen heads up with Nguyen looking for his 6th WSOP bracelet.

This event does not pay as much as most we’ve witnessed.  First place will cash out at $294,777, second place, $182,213.  Still, the Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better managed to attract massive talent.

Ivey himself cashed out at $136,046 and we are sure he’s eager to enter his next WSOP event.  For much of Event 24, Ivey was leading in chips, right up until the overnight hours.

Joe Cassidy vs. Scotty Nguyen heads-up play kicks off at 2 pm PST.
