Bookmakers Offer Odds to Win the 2012 WSOP

Last year, for the first time, casinos in Las Vegas were allowed to offer betting odds on who would win the World Series of Poker Main Event.

They'll be offering those odds once again this year, but if you can't make it to Vegas to put in your action, don't fret.

As usual, a plethora of offshore/online sportsbooks from around the world will also be offering wagering odds on professional poker's most prestigious event.

One of them is European sportsbook Bwin (www.bwin.com), which has listed poker bad boy Phil "Poker Brat" Hellmuth Jr. as the favorite to win the 2012 WSOP Main Event at odds of 40-1.

That means if you wager $10 on Phil to win the Main Event and he does, you will earn a profit of $400.

Listed next at odds of 50-1 are Bertrand Grospellier, Allen Cunningham, Phil "Poison" Ivey, Johnny "The Orient Express" Chan and  Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.

Next, at odds of 66-1, are Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu, Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi.

At 80-1 odds are Vitaly Lunkin and Josh Arieh.

At 100-1 odds are Steve Billirakis, Jason Mercier, Gus "The Great Dane" Hansen, Shawn Buchanan, Martin Staszko, Ram Vaswani, Ben Lamb and Pius Heinz, last year's WSOP Main Event champion.
