For Blom and Sahamies, Just Like Old Times

On Sunday night, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom was humbled by Daniel Negreanu as he lost his latest Superstar Showdown against the PokerStars front man by just over $26K. What better way to pick up his spirits than by taking over $100K against a former adversary, Ilari Sahamies.

Back during Blom’s days as a regular on the Full Tilt Poker nosebleed games, the two would square off quite regularly, taking turns winning monster pots from each other as railbirds gasped in amazement.  Though the games that Blom participates in are smaller than those at Full Tilt, the matchup was still very exciting and was a major treat for all those who watched.

On PokerStars, Sahamies plays under the name “Ilari Fin”, and not “Ziigmund like he does on Full Tilt. In total, the dynamic dup played 745 hands spread across three separate PLO (25/50) tables and when the smoke had cleared from their virtual fireworks, Blom had won $106,882 from his longtime rival.

Sahamies has had a brutal start to 2011 and taking on someone like Blom regularly may not be the smartest way to handle his bankrol
