The second bracelet of the WSOPE was awarded to Sherkhan Farnood Wednesday night, after beating out a bunch of big name pros the likes of Phil Ivey, Jeff Lisandro and chipleader Howard Lederer.

For 14 hours, top international players including Ivey, Lederer, Mark Gregorich, Jeffrey Lisandro and Sherkhan Farnood battled through the five-game rotation with hopes to win the second bracelet at WSOPE and the £76,999 top prize.

With his victory, Farnood became the second WSOP bracelet winner from Afghanistan (Queshqar Morad, 2002), an accomplishment that meant more to Farnood than just another tournament win.

"This is for the people of Afghanistan," Farnood said. "Because (I won), all the people of my country have a gold bracelet with me. From all of Afghanistan are two players! Me and my friend Queshqar Morad. We are two players with two bracelets ... Every poker player from Afghanistan has minimum one bracelet!"
