‘Peep Show’ Actor David Mitchell Announces Engagement to Poker Hostess Victoria Coren

Actor David Mitchell placed an advertisement to announce his engagement to girlfriend and poker hostess Victoria Coren Tuesday.

The rather traditional announcement featured under the “Births, Marriages and Deaths” column of the Times of London read:

'The engagement is announced between David, son of Mr and Mrs Ian Mitchell, of Oxford, and Victoria, daughter of Dr Anne Coren and the late Mr Alan Coren, of London.'

Coren was the first woman to win an event on the European Poker Tour and the first player to win both a televised professional tournament (EPT London 2006) and a televised celebrity tournament (Celebrity Poker Club 2005).   She took home £500,000 for winning the 2006 EPT Main Event and recently finished 2nd this past November in the International Federation of Poker's inaugural The Table World Championship, taking home $100,000.

Coren has presented for "Late Night Poker" and "The Poker Nations Cup" for Channel 4 in the United Kingdom.  She has hosted various other tournaments as well.
